A Review of Adora Luxury Hotel, Bled
I visited the incredible Lake Bled back at the beginning of April, and whilst there I stayed at Adora Luxury Hotel for two nights. It was the perfect base from which to explore the wonderful surroundings, and to collapse and relax after long days and lots of walking.
Location
The hotel is one of the most beautifully situated I’ve ever stayed in. Nestled right on the shores of Lake Bled, it’s the perfect point from which to access the lake. There aren’t many hotels right on the shore, so it’s a real treat to be this close to such a beautiful place.
From the hotel you can easily access the route to walk around the lake, which is 6km long. It’s also a 2 minute walk to the nearest boat station which you can use to get to the central island or around the various points on the lake.
It’s also only a 15 minute walk to the centre of Bled, which is home to a number of restaurants and bars as well as a Casino and about 30 minutes walk to Bled Castle, one of the most interesting sites to see in the area.
Accommodation
We stayed in a suite which offered two bathrooms, a large living area and a cosy little bedroom which had one of the comfiest beds I’ve ever slept in.
The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully appointed, with tea, coffee, chocolates and water provided daily. Rooms are made up once per day and there was a smart TV in the room, enabling you to cast from your devices, watch Netflix etc.
The defining feature of the room was it’s views out across Lake Bled. From the living room we could see Bled church on the island in the lake, and from the bedroom we could see Bled castle way up on the hill. It was absolutely stunning to wake up to that view!
Food & Drink
This is probably the area where the hotel is the weakest, especially if you’re visiting in off season like we were. There is one small restaurant which serves breakfast every morning between 8-10am, and can do lunch and dinner on request but isn’t always open. That said, the breakfast we had was absolutely delicious and the food really good quality.
There is a small bar downstairs as well, but it wasn’t open when we stayed. I suspect in the summer it’s open all the time, but during our visit we had to rely on food and drink from nearby restaurants in Bled town. There is also no room service offered in the hotel.
Amenities & Experiences
Aside from the restaurant, Adora’s main amenity is its beautiful garden which is perfect to sit in and look out across the lake. We spent an evening sitting in the sunshine with a bottle of wine playing games and it was truly beautiful.
The hotel also offers in room massages with 24hrs notice, and I thoroughly recommend them as they were incredibly relaxing. It can also help organise other activities (none of which we did), including horse drawn carriage rides around the lake, taxis and boat hire.
